SPLICES Splices occur no more than twice per roll, and not within 2 inches of the outer rim, nor within 8 inches of the core. The splices will be marked with crayon on both ends of the roll. Splices are “butt” style, taped with 4-inch heavy-duty masking tape on both sides of the sheet. |

PLUGS Plugs are wood composite and are securely placed in the core’s two ends to prevent crushing during handling and transit. |
LABELS The Bar-Coded Roll labels contain: An unwind direction arrow, customer name, destination, customer’s order number, grade/basis weight, width, footage and roll weight (both in pounds and inches metric). The labels are placed in a standard position on the roll indexed to the tending side of our paper machine. The roll number is also indicated on the label and is the method we use to trace any problems back through the production process. We highly appreciate your use of our roll number when discussing any problems with us. |
